Tom,
Have you lost your mind? Roe v. Wade as the worst decision ever? Try putting yourself in the shoes of a woman who was viciously raped, impregnated by her rapist, and forced to carry that child to term...would you want that reminder every day for the next 9 months? To hear people congradulate you on a pregnancy that was neither planned and more than likely, NOT wanted...how would you feel if you had THE GOVT telling you you have to carry that child to term. That you aren't allowed to have certain medical procedures performed for the sake of your own mental/physical/emotional health. How dare you say you don't agree with Roe v. Wade. I am pro-life, but I refuse to have someone else tell me what I can and can't do with my own body. Next you're going to say you don't believe women should have the right to vote...Taking Roe v. Wade off the books is the first step backwards for women's rights. Not only that, but do you know how many children are waiting for adoption right now in the US alone? MILLIONS! And are you going to adopt one or more of these "unaborted" children? I am appalled whenever I hear anyone say that Roe v. Wade was a mistake!
Those 45 million you speak of can only be tax-payers if they have jobs. Since there is not enough jobs now, they would be 45 million welfare recipients. Unless you want to ship them to India so they can be telemarketers for huge U.S. companies.

Tom,
Are you serious? You really believe Roe vs Wade is the reason Social Security is in trouble? Have you read anything about the current Social Security crisis and what has actually caused it? You might want to check it out before you make generalizations you can't support.
Tom, ultimately the issue is about choice. I'm sure you enjoy the freedom to choose what is best for you. Overpopulation, struggling single mothers, the over-burdened welfare system and the strain on the educational and social services are indirectly and partly responsible for the demise of our economy. What good is it to "save" a fetus and at eighteen send them to war? Peace.
social security is not in trouble because of of 45 million non-existent people. your argument makes no sense. it is trouble because of mismanagement by those in the administration today. is this a conservative trademark now to blame national and world problems based on irrational fears or numbers that don't exist? stop passing the buck and accept responsibility. know your facts. abortion doesn't kill 45 million. in fact, even among liberals, abortion has declined considerably with most family-planning clinics providing health-care, contraception, hiv-awareness and treatment, and counseling for prospective impoverished parents. it is a known fact that the increase and the rate thereof of humans on this planet is largely the driving force of global warming. think of every human on this planet, currently 6.5 billion (at the time of christ...total world population was around 150 million...half of the united states!). our own population will reach 500 million by 2040 from currently 300 million. if we as humans practice hunting "open-season" in part to control over population of certain animals because of the problems it causes, wouldn't you think that somehow we have manage our own numbers and give the world a chance to replenish it's resources and break-down our waste. think of all the raw sewage comining from a small town and where it goes. now think of that raw sewage and where it goes from metro areas like new york with 18 million, l.a. with 10 million, how about mexico city with 28 million. what are you incouraging? more babies to be born into increased environmental decay and pollution? i'm not saying kill babies...i'm saying prevent teen preganacies, delay child-birth to age 32 or 33 (that way parents are older, smarter, and able to care for their own instead of taxpayers paying for an 18 year old with child with no education), hand-out contraception, and limit the number of children to 2 per family until we can clean up the world mess. those babies that are born not-planned and unwanted can be adopted. look at the bigger picture and not just 1 issue at a time.
